Key responsibilities include shaping and executing Dreamit's unique strategy for pressure testing and de-risking startups in an extremely compressed time frame, meeting with startups globally to find the best-of-the-best teams and ideas, structuring investments into early stage companies, and working with corporations and organizations interested in seeing "over the horizon" in their industry by partnering with Dreamit and Dreamit portfolio companies.

    The #DreamitDose is a short-format, highly pragmatic video series on key topics where startups consistently stumble (usually without even knowing it). Steve worked with a great team at Dreamit where together we wrote, shot and post-produced the series. While Dreamit's YouTube channel in 2019 was nearly 10 year old, there were only 300 subscribers and little activity. Over a period of 3 years we organically grew Dreamit's YouTube subscribers to over 20,000 and continue to generate tremendous views and engagement. The Dreamit Dose not only helps founders and startups around the world, but highlights Dreamit's differentiated thinking, brand, and thought leadership.

    2016 - 2019

    The NASA Cross Industry Innovation Summit started September 2016 at NASA Space Center Houston with ~100 people from over 10 countries. Dr. Omar Hatamleh, NASA Chief Innovation Officer, originated the idea and vision to create a conference of innovation executives from global world-leading institutions. The conference aim is to share and collaborate on best practices accelerating cross-industry learning and innovation globally.

    Working with the CHOP executive suite, advisor on identifying, de-risking, and commercializing novel IP with strong pediatric indications that provide revenue diversification opportunities through scientific entrepreneurship. Exploring IP and spinout opportunities in the areas of 3D medical imaging/printing, vehicle simulation, cardiology, neuroimaging, neurosurgery, advanced medical imaging, radiology, digital pathology, genomics, medical devices, regenerative medicine, and dermatology. Work involves strategy creation and execution to help CHOP and its team members more quickly ripen, pivot, or trim commercially oriented projects in order to streamline and quicken the commercial IP innovation process. This includes rapidly educating hundreds of physicians, researchers, and administration team members on how to identify and de-risk critical assumptions on innovative ideas for healthcare-related diagnostics, software applications, devices, procedures, and mobile apps. As well providing project / team level accelerative mentoring.

    Steve was responsible for working with leading brands in the US and Europe to maximize product-market fit to their greatest needs, discovering new features and benefits myList could deliver to maximize end-to-end social engagement, and rapidly delivering feedback and understanding from brands to the myList software development, marketing, and client services teams. Accomplishments: ► Drove input and expansion from over 10 distinct verticals. ► Delivered nearly two dozen Fortune 500 brands for live production trials. ► Built the go-to-market strategy including the trial to close process. ► Built an on-boarding process to grow a sales team. myList is a social media solution for brands struggling to get a real connection to their social media users that the brand owns and controls. myList enables brands to get greater lifetime value from their social connections, drive much deeper, wider and authentic engagement, and get deep, actionable insights. Companies in the US and Europe including Campbell’s Soup, Procter & Gamble, FIAT, Disney and Philips leveraged myList to deliver Facebook-native content about their products in a highly engaging and socially acceptable way. As well, myList offers brands extremely deep demographic and psychographic insights that brands leverage for more efficient media buys and to uncover new partnership opportunities. myList, launched in late 2012 and was born from Channel Intelligence (CI), a leader in eCommerce that was acquired by Google in 2013.

    Steve founded Packlate in 2009 and grew it to a multi-million dollar run rate and the largest real time global vacation rental network. Packlate provided instantly confirmed reservations on over 35,000 vacation homes in more than 40 countries. Packlate's real time network could deliver a confirmed booking on an individual vacation home in ~6 seconds. Steve's deep understanding of technology, marketing, business development, and vacation rental product enabled global travel companies to participate in the rapidly expanding $85 billion vacation rental market. Packlate was backed by Genacast, First Round Capital, First Mark, and Artists & Instigators. Steve met with clients and suppliers globally to open up new sources of supply and demand. In less than 3 years Steve helped Packlate grow supply relationships to over 200 property managers spanning 5 continents. Steve helped negotiate strategic supplier agreements as well as demand channel agreements with online travel agencies and travel wholesalers.
