    As the Co-founder of Zensurance, I pledged a portion of my company's equity to charity. By pledging with the Upside, I committed to share our success to make an impact in my local community. It was an amazing experience when we shared with Sick Kids through the Upside Foundation the results. After Zensurance was acquired the equity we pledged to the Upside Foundation was paid out and the benefits went to Sick Kids. The Upside Foundation enables founders of early-stage, high-growth Canadian companies to build social responsibility into their business by donating equity to the charity of their choice. It is a powerful community of values-driven founders that I'm proud to be a part of.

    Acquired by Travelers - August 2018 Co-founded Zensurance building what at the time was Canada’s leading insurtech pure play in the small Commercial Insurance segment. As a co-founder I was involved in all aspects of the business from setting the vision to fund raising to product development and product launch. The key area of focus for me was developing the product vision and the organization that delivered on the product and technology. - Defining product vision and strategy based on understanding of customer needs, behaviour and feedback. - Recruiting, organizing, and managing a talented technology and product team. - Prioritize product roadmaps and backlogs, define requirements, write user stories, identify analytics requirements, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive results. - Leading marketing efforts to generate leads that originate online and complete their application through our digital experience. - Fundraising and negotiating over term sheets/deal documents. - Reporting to board on a quarterly basis on the performance of the company.     As Head of Strategy I reported to the Chief Financial Officer and worked very closely with the senior management team on an ongoing basis. Some of the work I did included: -Supporting the GM and his executive teams operations planning and 3 year strategic planning. This included meeting with each of the leaders to understand their plans for the planning initiatives, monitoring and preparing presentations, keeping the GM updated with the progress, and putting the final presentation and logistics together. -Negotiating a multi-million dollar strategic deal with a major technology firm. I was involved in negotiating the business terms, working day to day with legal counsel on drafting the contract, negotiating with the counter party, and communicating with our local technology teams on product implications. -Managing relationship with a leading online ad provider. Took over this account and noticed the relationship was not productive. Repaired the relationship and had a very productive partnership moving forward. -Collaborated with business leaders of a number of the business verticals to analyze incremental revenue opportunities and new product opportunities. This included the financial modeling, close collaboration with product/tech on product needs and roll out planning. -Supported the senior management team with annual operations planning and 3 year strategic planning. -Forecasting business performance from two key revenue streams, ads and features. Monitoring and updating performance during the year and reporting on a quarterly basis to business owners.
